Should new agents hire a real estate photographer?

"As a new Oklahoma City Metro Area real estate agent, I'm just starting out and my marketing budget is tight after covering expenses for flyers and a billboard. Therefore, I'm hesitant to hire a professional real estate photographer for my new listings.”

In today's digital age, nearly everyone searches for properties online. Traditional methods like calling a real estate agent or relying on office window flyers are becoming less effective. Nowadays, effective marketing involves leveraging syndicated online real estate marketplaces, and social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, where visual content such as photos and videos play a crucial role in attracting potential buyers.

What does this mean for new real estate agents?

Therefore, as a new agent, I would choose to invest in a professional real estate photographer right from my first listing. This decision reflects my commitment to presenting properties in the best possible manner and attracting serious buyers who are willing to pay top dollar. Compelling visuals are key to generating interest in a prop

erty listing.

Even though I could take my own photos, there's a significant difference between amateur and professional photography. Just like a restaurant aiming for Michelin-star quality wouldn't settle for amateur food photography, or someone looking for a partner wouldn't choose a blurry selfie for a dating profile, using professional photography in real estate ensures that the property is presented in the best possible light.

While it might be tempting to cut costs by taking photos myself, amateur photos may not attract the highest-quality buyers or sellers. Investing in professional photography from the outset demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and excellence, which can enhance my reputation and ultimately help grow my business.

Therefore, as a new agent, I would choose to invest in a professional real estate photographer right from my first listing. This decision reflects my commitment to presenting properties in the best possible manner and attracting serious buyers who are willing to pay top dollar.
